Governor Jay Inslee, who was already the 6th highest paid governor in the country, will today receive a $6,000+ non-merit based annual pay increase. This is the second pay increase the governor has received in the past 12 months (despite spending much of last year out of the state on his failed presidential campaign).  Inslee, who has never denied that he is seeking a position in a potential Biden Administration (in fact, it appears to be his primary objective), has had his annual salary escalate from $177,107 to $189,186 in the past year.  While so many Washington residents are experiencing severe financial insecurity, the governor did not want to be alone in his opulence and allowed a second 3% pay increase for state employees to commence today as well. Governor Jay Inslee continues to be more focused on earning a position in a (possible) future Biden Administration than on doing his job that Washingtonians are paying him for.  Inslee, while appearing Sunday on “Face the Nation,” threw out a few well-rehearsed petty one-liners aimed at President Donald Trump, and avoided talking about the numerous failures of his administration (especially the cruel failure of his Employment Security Department ) during the coronavirus outbreak.  When Inslee was asked about his administration’s failure in stopping the spread of COVID-19 in Central Washington’s agricultural community, here was his response (printed verbatim). “We’ve got to have an agricultural industry because we need to eat across the United States. Are Both the Legislature & State Supreme Court Ignoring our Constitution?

Does this scenario portray our state's legislature on state income tax?  I'll leave it up to you as to who's who here. Source: ShiftWA.org Proposed House Republican budget helps the families the Democrats have forgotten.    Democrats patted themselves on the back in 2007 for creating the Working Families Tax Credit.  Problem is, they never funded the program (because it does not achieve the primary liberal goals of expanding the number of government employees or rewarding another special interest group).  Republicans have proposed a budget that funds the long-forgotten program, helps working families (including childcare options and assisting with distance-learning expenses), and does not increase taxes.
